I took the recipe from Grandma. Sarumana, Grandma! Thanks for the idea ....
- 1 kg of red beets
- 1 kg of sugar
- 1 l apa
- 1 lemon
Preparation time: less than 90 minutes
RECIPE PREPARATION Beetroot jam:
I boiled the water with the sugar until it became a syrup (honey consistency).
In this syrup I added the peel and the core of the finely chopped lemon.
In the meantime, I cleaned and cut the beets to the right size for the jam.
I added the beets to the syrup, and waited (long and well) for it to thicken.
The result, however, exceeded all my and my family's expectations! It's an excellent jam !!!

My jam doesn't have the color I saw in Grandma's pictures. I don't think the beets were as dark. Or maybe I boiled it a lot more .....
